iMapp Bucharest 2020 Online Festival -Urban Art Exhibition in Motion and Video projections on the façades of 3 buildings located in the heart of the city
iMapp Bucharest, organized every year during the event “Bucharest Days” – on the occasion of the city’s celebration, has won many fans in the Capital, in the country and around the world. This year, the festival will take place in a special format, which takes into account the need for physical distance and the safety of citizens.
Bucharest City Hall, through Creart, organized in the Constitutiei Square of Bucharest, Romania, the 6th edition of iMapp Bucharest, one of the biggest 3D video mapping international contests.
The theme of the 6th edition of iMapp Bucharest marked the fact that the competition became the Winners League of the Video Mapping World, connecting by this some of the most important festivals, artists and specialists worldwide, making at the same time a reference to the 30th Anniversary of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the limitless possibilities – including the borderless cooperation and communication – it brought into our life.
Bucharest City Hall, through Creart – organized on Saturday, 22nd of September 2018, in Constituției Square, the 5th edition of iMapp Bucharest – one of the biggest 3D video mapping shows in the world.
For the first time in the history of the festival, 10 international teams have been chosen to participate at iMapp Bucharest 2018: Sila Sveta from Russia, Go2 Productions from Canada, LosRomeras and OTUCINEMA from Spain, NullPixel from Mexico, SKG Media from China, United Motion Labs from Austria, Mindscape Studio from Romania, OCUBO from Portugal, ArtZebs from Ukraine, and Vision Impossible from Netherlands.

Gong Zhen, a mapping art designer coming from Shanghai, China. The leader of a mapping art design company : SKGMEDIA. In last 5 years, he finished about 20 mapping works independently, included building mapping, car mapping, sculpture mapping, interactive mapping and other more formats. In Sep. 2016, his work ‘Times’ won the second place in Moscow Light festival (Classic Group). Besides, Gong Zhen is also a mapping teacher and mapping exhibition planner.
More than 40.000 people at iMapp Bucharest 2016
iMapp Bucharest stands for video projections on the second largest administrative building in the world, more than 104 projectors used, 23.000 square meters of projection surface, over 2.000.000 ANSI lumens and one huge stage. Each year, in September, the best video artists in the world showcase their work on the façade of the Palace of Parliament, in front of a large audience.
More than 65.000 people came to see the video-mapping shows and danced all evening, on the opening grooves from renowned artists, Parov Stelar and Șuie Paparude.
2015 meant the second edition of iMapp Bucharest. The festival’s theme was “The Elements”. The concept referred to the fact that the shows can use combinations of any number of elements. They could have been abstract or figurative, realistic or symbolic, a dynamic mixture or just one element.
