On Saturday, September 23rd 2023, over 50.000 people experienced iMapp Bucharest – Winners League in Constitution Square, within the 8th edition of the biggest international contest of 3D video mapping in the world, organized by the Bucharest City Hall, through CREART, with free entrance.

Thanks to a partnership between 5 of the most important video mapping festivals in the world, in the contest have participated: PostSignal – Jeremy Oury, Dorian Rigal, and Leon Denise (the winning team of the  Public Choice Award within the Video Mapping Festival Contest from Lille, France), John Tettenborn and Kourtney Lara Ross (winners of Genius Loci Weimar Festival from Germany), Panagiotis Tomaras (winner of last’s year edition of CosmoLights Projection Mapping from Greece), MultiScalar founded and coordinated by Reinaldo Verde (winner of the Big Price of this year’s edition of Zsolnay Light Festival from Hungary) and Julia Shamsheieva (winner of the Big Price at 1minut Projection Mapping in Japan). They presented their works on the 23.000 sqm façade of the Parliament Palace. The jury, made of important international professionals from the audio-visual field, decided the winner of the 2023 edition: the artist Julia Shamsheieva from Ukraine, with a video titled „Clarobscur”.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Arts and is member of the Union of Designers in Ukraine. Her activity ranges from video mapping and digital art to lights, interactive installations, AR and VR. Using lights to tell a story, the artist challenges the usual barriers of expression and transposes in a unique context her main aspirations.

 

 Julia Shamsheieva – iMapp Bucharest Winners League 2023

The famous international artist Jean – Michel Jarre, the Official Ambassador of iMapp Bucharest came to Bucharest and handed her the event’s trophy.

Julia Shamsheieva, winner of iMapp Bucharest – Winners League 2023, is an artist from Odessa, who creates fascinating 3D and animation works. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Arts and is member of the Union of Designers in Ukraine. Her activity ranges from video mapping and digital art to lights, interactive installations, AR and VR. Using lights to tell a story, the artist challenges the usual barriers of expression and transposes in a unique context her main aspirations.

For the first time at iMapp Bucharest, the public met PIXEL, the new virtual MC, AI generated, who addressed the public right from the projection surface, in an interactive manner, presenting the participating teams that have creatively explored CONTRASTS, the contest’s theme, in a show of light, sound, and colour.

Within the most important New Media Art project from Romania, iMapp Bucharest offered 12 hours of entertainment. On the stage in Constitution Square, from 11 am, DJ CS84 animated the show with electronic music and from 5 pm, KOV conquered the public trough music and dance. Dj Ravin, the international artist who created the Buddha Bar compilations, stepped on the stage for Bucharest citizen and tourists. Dedicated to the entire family, the event was completed by street food and lounge areas, as well as by street artists with themed costumes.
