This vibrant weekend, where the Capital resonates in unison, is the focal point of the Bucharest Days events and features a not to be missed program: iMapp Bucharest – the 9th edition of the international 3D video mapping contest, DJ sets and live concerts, street artists and activities for the whole family, street food and lounge areas.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024

BETWEEN 4 PM – 11 PM

On the first day dedicated to the celebration of Bucharest, on September 21, 2024, iMapp Bucharest – Winners League, the biggest 3D video mapping event in the world and the most important New Media Art project in Romania, transforms the city into a true global capital of light, bringing the stunning spectacle of visual arts and technology to the impressive 23,000 square meter façade of Europe’s largest administrative building – the Palace of Parliament. This will become an unparalleled work of digital art, captivating the eyes and hearts of all attendees.

Starting with 4 PM, the public is invited to discover and enjoy various activities that will create a festive atmosphere with attractions for all age groups. During these two days, the partner Bucharest Street Food Festival – special edition by iMapp, the biggest street food event in Europe, will be present in Constitutiei Square with the most famous dishes, from more than 10 international cuisines, inviting the participants to discover and enjoy them.

The atmosphere will be animated by street artists, spectacular through the themed costumes, who will turn every corner into a party. Local DJs will provide an unforgettable sound experience right from the start of the event. The evening will culminate with the set of an internationally renowned DJ, who will create with every hit, mix and beat an electrifying atmosphere, encouraging the audience to dance and generating the perfect atmosphere for the long-awaited moment and the centerpiece of the city’s celebration – iMap Bucharest, the international 3D video mapping contest.

Now in its 9th edition, iMapp Bucharest – Winners League is both a reference event for international audiovisual specialists and a visual arts phenomenon, as well as a celebration of creativity, technology and innovation, becoming a brand of the Capital. In partnership with five of the most important international light festivals in the world, the contest presents to the public the best artists in the field: MP-STUDIO (the winning team of the great contest at Chongqing International Light Art Festival from China), Dirk Rauscher (the winner of the Audience Award at Video Mapping Festival from France, Lille), LUCID collective (the winning team at Genius Loci Weimar Festival from Germany), The Fox, The Folks (the winning team of the Great Prize at 1minute Projection Mapping from Japan) and Ivó Kovács (the winner of the Grand Prize at Zsolnay Light Festival from Hungary). These masters of art and technology will transform the impressive façade of the Palace of Parliament into stunning visual spectacles. LEGACY, this year’s theme, honors the richness of global cultures, each one’s unique folklore and traditions, but also universal values ​​and emotions. PIXEL, the virtual MC of iMapp Bucharest, generated by AI, will speak to the viewers directly from the projection surface and will introduce the participating teams, ensuring an interactive and dynamic experience.

Jury Award and Public’s Choice Award at iMapp Bucharest – Winners League 2024

At the end of the evening, a jury of international visual arts experts will select the Grand Winner of the 2024 edition, giving the Jury Award. The public can also support their favorite team and get actively involved by expressing their preference for a particular artwork via a normal rate SMS to a number available on the evening of the event.

BETWEEN 11 AM – 10 PM

On September 22, 2024, starting with 11 AM, another day of fun awaits you in Constitutiei Square! Together with the partner Bucharest Street Food Festival, now in its 12th edition, the city’s celebration continues with live music, friends and delicious flavours – over 50 food trucks, in a unique and spectacular recipe.

Between 11 AM and 10 PM, Bucharest residents and tourists can participate in numerous fun activities for all ages. There will also be street artists, who will interact with the participants, sharing positive energy.

The concerts will bring together rhythms from the local scene. Beloved DJs will be mixing hits that bring people together as they enjoy, through dance, the moment. Moreover, well-known and popular bands will take the stage to offer unforgettable live concerts that will close the event. The atmosphere will be electrifying, full of joy and excitement.
