The 19–20 September edition brings seven international video mapping winners to Bucharest for a new edition of the Winners League, alongside a special moment dedicated to Nadia Comăneci.

iMapp Bucharest Winners League returns in 2026 with a new edition dedicated to digital art, music and technology. Over the two days of the event, Bucharest will once again become a meeting point for international video mapping artists, audiences and prominent names from the electronic and live music scenes, to be announced soon.

Organized by the Municipality of Bucharest, through ARCUB, as part of Bucharest City Days, iMapp Bucharest Winners League reaches its 11th edition, continuing the project that, for more than a decade, has transformed the approximately 23,000-square-metre façade of the Palace of Parliament into a space for digital creativity and monumental audiovisual experiences.

iMapp Bucharest 2026. PAST. FORWARD.

Born from the desire to bring New Media Art into public space, iMapp Bucharest has become an international platform for video mapping and new media technologies. Through the Winners League format, the event brings to Bucharest artists and teams selected by some of the most important international festivals in the field. The theme of the 2026 edition, PAST. FORWARD., explores the dialogue between past and future through memory, heritage, technology and imagination. The seven works in competition offer different perspectives on time and memory, while the Palace of Parliament becomes an integral part of each creation’s narrative.

Seven international artists in the iMapp Bucharest 2026 competition

The iMapp Bucharest 2026 programme brings together, over the two days, video mapping shows, music, entertainment and outdoor experiences, with the international Winners League competition at its core. Seven international artists and studios, winners of competitions organized by the seven partner festivals from Hungary, Japan, Germany, France, China, the USA and Brazil, will compete for the iMapp Bucharest 2026 Grand Prize. An international jury will award the Jury Prize, while the public will be able to vote for their favourite work by SMS at the standard rate, by sending their vote to 1755, determining the winner of the Public Prize.

A special moment dedicated to Nadia Comăneci

This year’s edition of iMapp Bucharest marks 50 years since Nadia Comăneci’s historic performance at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games through a special video mapping moment dedicated to the gymnast and her impact on world sport.

iMapp Bucharest. 11 editions of digital art in public space

Over the course of its 10 editions, iMapp Bucharest has contributed to strengthening Bucharest’s position on the international digital art map, transforming the Palace of Parliament into a space for contemporary creativity and audiovisual experiences freely accessible to the public. The project’s relevance was recognized in 2026 with the Silver Trophy in the “Art Event” category at the Eventex Awards, for the edition dedicated to Constantin Brâncuși and George Enescu.

Through the Winners League concept, iMapp Bucharest brings together artists selected as winners of international competitions in the field, creating a meeting point for artistic perspectives and cultural scenes from around the world.
